With over 30 years of experience across different healthcare systems, Dr Justino Monteiro brings invaluable expertise to London MedClinic.

Originally from Guinea-Bissau, he speaks Portuguese, English, Spanish, and French. He earned his medical degree from the Classic University of Lisbon, followed by training in Internal Medicine at Egas Moniz Hospital. His career began in Lisbon, where he worked in both general practice and hospitals before joining an international medical aid organisation in Mozambique in 1994.

After moving to London, Dr Monteiro gained experience in intensive care and served as a locum GP, collaborating with the Stockwell Project to support patients with substance misuse. He later held key medical roles in the UK, including as a Medical Officer for the British Pregnancy Advisory Service, and spent time in Portugal specialising in high-dependency and intensive care.

Dr Monteiro is passionate about preventive healthcare, mental well-being, and weight management, with expertise in cardiovascular diseases and tropical/travel medicine.
